3.5 Crore Jewellery And 2.66 Lakh Robbed From Andhra Bank In Chittoor - Sakshi Post

Chittoor: A Bank Robbery took place at Yadamari Andhra Bank in Chittoor district on Sunday, October 13. 17 Kg worth of Jewellery amounting up to Rs. 3.5 crore and Rs. 2.66 Lakh in liquid cash was robbed from the bank.

According to reports, Bank officers had informed the police over the Robbery in Yadamari Andhra Bank on Monday morning. The police rushed to the bank and opened the locker only to find 17 Kg pawn Jewellery worth Rs. 3.5 crore and Rs. 2.66 Lakh liquid cash missing. They then started an inquiry into the case.

As the locker keys were with the bank manager on Sunday which is a bank holiday, police suspect Yadamari Andhra Bank manager Subrahmaniam’s hand in this robbery and have taken him into custody.

The Police arrested four people in this case, and are investigating the bank’s security, accountant and cashier, while also taking them into custody. Further investigations are underway.
