YS Jagan Led Govt Scripts History, Creates Record Number Of Jobs For AP Grama Sachivalayam 2019
Amaravati: In a first in the history of India, the Andhra Pradesh government-led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy recruited a record number of over 1.2 lakh candidates for various posts in AP Grama Sachivalayam. The recruits in village secretariats will begin their work from October 2, 2019.
A total number of 1,26,728 candidates have been recruited for various posts in village and ward secretariats. For the purpose, a total of 11,158 village secretariats and 3,786 ward secretariats will come into existence across the state on October 2, the birth anniversary of Gandhi also known as Gandhi Jayanthi.
It may be recalled that the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development (MDL-I) Department had directed officials to set up village secretariats on July 19 this year. Thee candidates had to apply for various posts from July 11-19. For three categories of post, 21,69,719 applications were received.
Of the 1,26,728 posts, 95,088 were for rural posts and 31,640 were for urban posts.
The exams were conducted under the supervision of respective district collectors from September 1 to 8 this year.
About 19.56 lakh candidates appeared for the exams.
Of the 19,50,630 candidates who appeared for 1,26,728 posts, the number of candidates who qualified for the posts was 1,98,164 candidates. The certificate verification started on September 23. The appointment orders will be given on September 28 and will be followed by an orientation programme on October 1 and 2.
On October 2, one village secretariat will be inaugurated in every mandal. To ensure smooth functioning and speedy governance, all the village secretariats will be given desktops, MFP - Printer and Scanner, UPS – 2 KVA, two hours backup, lamination machine, mobile phones, biometric device fingerprint and iris device. Internet connection will be provided with a landline phone. BSNL net connectivity or available local network will also be installed.
