Govt. Rewards Godavari Boat Accident Rescue Heroes

Amaravathi: Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister Kurasala Kannababu on Friday, in a press meet announced that the government will give Rs 25,000 as reward to Kachuluru villagers who have bravely tried to rescue the victims of boat accident in river Godavari.

“The search is still going on for the Godavari boat. Around 26 people have been rescued by Kachuluru villagers who risked their lives for the rescue. The Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy appreciated their bravery and directed the district collector to get their details. The Government has promised to give Rs. 25,000 as reward to the victim’s families,” said Kannababu

If anyone is ready to help trace the boat, the government is ready to co-operate with them after discussing it with the experts. “Government is trying its best to trace the boat. Some people are trying to politicise this incident. Even leaders like Chandrababu Naidu is also talking inappropriately,” said Kannababu.

Some hundreds of man power is working to rescue the boat. Government is trying to use all the possible technical tools to fix the issue.

A GO issued in 2018 about boat accident says only about the respective department’s work but did not say about how to co-ordination among the departments. Despite all these hurdles and unfavourable climatic conditions government is at its best to rescue the boat.
