West Godavari Teachers Allegedly Give Demo On Rape in Classroom

Vijayawada: Two teachers of a government primary school in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh allegedly demonstrated in the class how rape is committed. This has triggered outrage among the villagers who protested outside the school on Saturday.

The alleged incident happened on Chintalapudi mandal on Friday.

However, police said that no complaint have been lodged yet and are verifying the reports on the alleged incident.

District education officer CV Renuka told a leading daily that she would personally investigate into the incident and get a 'first-hand' assessment.

Meanwhile, Chintalapudi sub-inspector Kranthi have claimed that the reports are false. He said the entire issue revolved around three students. He said that two boys and a girl of Class III got into a quarrel and the girl was injured in the fight. He said that there was no evidence that the girl was used to demonstrate rape.

TV reports showed villagers protesting outside the school. It also suggested that the teachers were beaten up by the villagers and handed over to the police.

District education officials said that they are trying to verify the veracity of the incident.
