New Delhi: Congress senior leader KVP Ramachandra Rao recalled his friend and former chief minister YS Rajashekara Reddy as a rare personality in world history.

Reminiscing the time he spent with the mass leader, on the occasion of YSR's 70th birth anniversary, Rao said he still carried the sorrow of losing his dear friend, over 10 years after his untimely demise. The welfare schemes he had rolled out would be remembered for hundreds of years to come and were worth emulating. Particularly, free power to farmers and Aarogya Sri had helped scores of poor and downtrodden, he observed.

Stating that YSR also left an indelible imprint on Hyderabad's development, he attributed the successful projects of Outer Ring Road, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, bringing Kirshna water to quench the thirst of city dwellers were all because of the long term vision envisioned by the late chief minister.
