Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister Avanthi Srinivas paid rich tributes to Alluri Sitarama Raju on the occasion of the freedom fighter's 122nd birth Anniversary here on Thursday. The Minister paid homage to Alluri Sitarama Raju's by garlanding his statue at Sithammdhara in Visakhapatnam in his honour. The Minister reiterated and said that as part of the ongoing district reorganisation in the State, the newly formed district of Visakhapatnam would be named after Alluri Sitarama Raju.
3. Two From Andhra Pradesh Charged In US For H-1B Visa Fraud
The US justice department charged four Indian-Americans, including two from Andhra Pradesh for alleged H-1B visa fraud. The charges come in the backdrop of the US administration crackdown on outsourcing companies misuing H-1B programme. The H-1B visa allows anyone to live and work in the US that require specialised skills.
4. Forest Officer Cheats, Sexually Exploits Woman, Promising Job
A forest officer Mohan Rao sexually exploited a woman for 5 months and also took Rs. 2 lakhs from her, promising her a government job in the department, the victim alleged, addressing media persons in front of the Guntur district police office on Wednesday. The woman, who had studied D-Pharmacy, got separated from her husband following differences with him. She was staying along with her 8 year-old daughter in her parents' house.

Another video pertaining to the Kaghaznagar attack on the forest officials in Asifabad district emerged on Wednesday. The video clearly shows Sirpur MLA Koneru Konappa's brother Koneru Krishna attacking the forest officials. Krishna's role was evident in the attack on the officials on Sunday.

A US-based software engineer died after his car overturned at a resort Telangana's Vikarabad district. Arvind Kumar Peechara, 45, was riding an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) in the Hills and Valley Adventures Resort at Godamaguda near Hyderabad when the misadventure happened on Monday.

Telangana Cyber Crime police seized actor Sivaji's passport on Wednesday. Sivaji was earlier caught by the Cyber Crime police at the Hyderabad International Airport on Wednesday morning, while he was trying to flee the country. Look Out Notices were issued earlier by the police and based on this the Immigration Officers at the Airport had informed the police about his departure. It is said that he had booked a ticket to New York and was trying to exit the country quietly.
9. Couple killed in car mishap on Hyderabad’s ORR
A couple died on the spot after the car they were traveling in lost control and hit a railing on the Outer Ring Road at Keesara here in the wee hours of Thursday. The victims, identified as Muthayya and Chittamma, both labourers, were on their way to work along with others when the mishap occurred.
10. Hyderabad’s Langer Houz lake getting the much needed help
Once clean and free of pollution, the Langer Houz Lake is now a cess pool literally, with sewage water and garbage triggering frothing in the lake.A beautification project, 14 years ago, had seen this water body being provided with a sewage treatment plant and a park. However, that now, is history, as water hyacinth covers a major portion of the lake, providing a perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes as well.
