Rajahmundry Realtor Murdered By Wife, Sons, Brother-in-Law

Rajahmundry: Family disputes led to the murder of a 54 year-old real estate businessman, V Pattabhi Ramareddy here just after midnight on Monday. He was attacked brutally by his wife, two sons, and his wife's brother in Hukumpeta rural mandal at Rajahmundry district. It is reported that Pattabhi Ramareddy had been estranged from his family for more than four years.

On Monday night around 12.15 pm, Ramareddy's wife Suryavani, her sons, Yogadurgatej Reddy, Bholashankartej Reddy, and her brother, Satti Sivakrishna Reddy reached Balaji Towers at Hukumpeta where the victim lived. With the help of the watchman, they forced open the door and entered the businessman's flat on the second floor. Later, they attacked and stabbed Pattabhirama Reddy indiscriminately killing him on the spot. Two tribal women who were staying within the house ran into the bathroom and hid there.

As per reports, differences between Pattabhi Ramareddy and his wife, Suryavani cropped up about four years ago. After a burglary in the house, Rs. 15 lakhs in cash and a large quantity of gold was stolen and he came to the conclusion that his wife and brothers-in-law were responsible for the theft. It is said that they were nursing a grudge against him ever since.

His wife and her brothers had earlier attempted to murder by trying to poison him. After that he started staying separately from his wife and she filed a Domestic Violence case under Section 498A. With that, he decided to separate from her and filed for divorce in the Family court. He is said to have moved from Maredumilli to Hukumpet nine months ago. He moved into the current apartment and told the residents that he was a realtor. The residents told the police that Ramireddy was educating a tribal woman named Chadala Durga Devi's daughter and used to take advice from a lady named Yerukonda Srividya from Rajahmundry.

His wife and children had conducted a recce prior to committing the murder. On Monday morning his sons had come and met their father and it was clear that the murder was a pre-planned one.

The Bommuru police examined the scene of crime and called for the CLUES team to collect vital evidence and fingerprints. Law and order ASP Latha Madhur and East Mandal DSP reached the place and examined the scene of crime.

Ramireddy is said to have more than 11 criminal cases pending against him in Tadepallygudem. He is known to trap government officials in ACB cases and was also into blackmailing them. There was also a murder case pending against him.
