Excursion Goes Horribly Wrong As Two Youngsters Drown In Pamuleru River

Rajahmundry: In a tragic incident, two youngsters lost their lives in East Godavari district. The incident took place at Pamurelu village in Maredumilli Mandal on Sunday. According to the police report, three friends from Gokaram Mandal visited the village of Pamurelu on an excursion.

Of the three, two of them, Jutthuka Naresh (24) and Gedella Sitaram (22) went into the Pamurelu river to have a swim. Unaware of the depth of the river, the duo ventured into the water but got trapped. Having noticed that his friends had not returned, the third friend at the shore, Bantimilli Nagababu immediately rushed to inform the police. But by the time, help arrived, the duo had already drowned.

With the help of the locals, the police retrieved the two bodies from the river.

The deceased, Naresh is learned to have recently completed his degree and is currently under employment while Sitaram completed his Intermediate education in the village of Rampayaram Palem. The bodies were shifted to the Rampachodaram area hospital for postmortem. A case has been registered and the police are investigating further.
