Rain Gods Bless YS Jagan On Swearing-In Day
Vijayawada: The ushering in of Rajanna Rajyam began on a propitious note as showers cooled Vijayawada in the wee hours of Thursday. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is all set to be sworn in as the new chief minister of Andhra Pradesh by Governor ESL Narasimhan at 12.23 pm on Thursday at an official ceremony in the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium here in Vijayawada. The heavy rains accompanied by strong winds lowered the temperatures considerably favourable for the swearing-in ceremony.
While the downpour affected the stadium partially with the water damaging the makeshift tents and drenching the hoardings along with seating arrangements, the Municipal authorities along with the other officials on Thursday morning cleared the water in the stadium and the damaged material.
Several VVIPs, including Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, DMK President MK Stalin and leaders of various political parties are scheduled to appear for the ceremony.
After taking oath as the Chief Minister, YS Jagan is set to address the gathering and announce his vision for the development of the State. It is being said that YS Jagan would go in for cabinet expansion soon. The new Legislative Assembly is likely to be convened on June 11.
