YS Jagan Offers Condolences To Veldurthi Accident Victims Families
In a ghastly accident that took place on the National Highway at Veldurthi Cross Roads in Kurnool district, 15 people lost their lives. The victims are identified as residents of Ramapuram village in Vaddepally mandal of Gadwal district in Telangana and two others are from Veldurthi.
YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed grief over the loss of lives in the accident and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family members.
The incident occurred when a multi-utility vehicle (MUV) carrying 20 passengers collided with a speeding private bus at Veldurthi on Saturday evening.
The private bus, proceeding from Hyderabad to Bengaluru, rammed into the MUV that swerved into the other side of the highway in order to avoid a two-wheeler. The impact of the collision was heavy as the bus was moving at high speed causing 13 people dying on the spot. Two others succumbed to death while being retrieved from the vehicle. Five others sustained injuries and were shifted to Kurnool government hospital. Their condition is learned to be critical.
