Amaravati : “During which chief minister’s tenure Telugu Desam Party was founded?”

“What is the amount given to an intercaste couple if one of them belonged to a Scheduled Caste under Chandranna Pelli Kanuka?”

“Pasupu Kumkuma is aimed at providing financial assistance to which community in the State?”

Sample these questions. These are exactly the kind of questions that were asked in the Group –II exam conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) on Sunday. When candidates attempted such question paper, they were at a loss to figure out if they were appearing an exam conducted by the Telugu Desam Party or a democratically elected government.

It clearly appears that the overzealous authorities at the APPSC have made every effort to be in the good books of the TDP government by framing questions that indirectly benefits the ruling party this election season. A good number of questions were centred around the welfare programmes named after Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and were hurriedly launched by the TDP government just before the elections.

Candidates and opposition parties in the State have lashed out at the TDP government by terming that it made a mockery of a government exam. They said this was also in violation of Model Code of Conduct as it effectively showed that the TDP government was making use of an examination for propagating its party ideology and welfare schemes.
