Train track broken near Mandavalli Railway Station - Sakshi Post

Bhairava Pattanam / Mandavalli: A major accident was averted on Friday for the Puri-Tirupati Express. A key-man noticed broken railway tracks in the way of the train and alerted the engine driver to stop the train. The incident took place near Mandavalli Railway Station in the Gudivada-Bhimavaram section under Vijayawada division of South Central Railway (SCR).

Following this, the train was halted at the Bhairavapatnam village.

Mandavalli key-man Briz Mohan Meena was on his patrolling duty between Kaikaluru and Mandavalli railway stations around 5.47 am when he noticed the rail line breakage between the two stations. He immediately informed Mandavalli railway station Superintendent Sudharshan. However, by the time the train had already departed Kaikaluru station and was moving towards the rail breakage spot.

Reacting spontaneously, Mohan Meena indicated danger signal to the train, thus averting an accident. The Engineering staff attended the rail breakage and the train movement was restored 30 minutes later.
