Anantapur: A man from Visakhapatnam has embarked upon a cycle yatra to create awareness about the value of  vote in democracy. Right to vote is the right of every citizen in a democracy and it has the power to wipe out the corrupted government, says Chitnakala Srinu.

Srinu is a daily wage labourer earning Rs 600 per day and a resident of Arilova colony, Visakhapatnam. Every year he earns for 11 months and takes a month off to promote a social cause.

This year, Srinu has taken up the task of enlightening the common man about the right to vote and his slogan is "not to sell their vote”. This cycle yatra, which begun in Visakhapatnam reached Anantapur on Saturday.

As general elections are fast approaching, he has chosen to create awareness about voting. He said that as people are selling their votes, it is leading to the degradation of values. Once a corrupt politician gets into power, they neglect welfare and are busy looting public money. Srinu opined that if honest and law abiding people are voted to the legislature, then people-friendly and good administration can be expected.
