Paruveta Utsavam In Tirumala Today
Tirupati: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam is all set to celebrate the holy Paruveta Utsavam, which is observed in Tirumala on the day of Kanuma, the third day of Sankranti, today.
The festival began in the early morning with a procession being organized for floral garlands of Andal Sri Godai starting from Pedda Jiyar Mutt in four mada streets. Later, they will be offered to the deity Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala temple.
In view of these events the TTD has called off all Arjitha Sevas after this fete on Wednesday, as also Anga Pradakdhina.
Monday was the last day of Dhanurmasam, Alwar Divya Prabandha Project of TTD held the event of Goda Kalyanam at Annamacharya Kalamandiram in Tirupati.
Varanamayiram pasurams were offered by M. Bhanuja and her troupe, and were rendered in the form of Kuchipudi the classical dance of AP. The performances left the audience enthralled. Varanamayiram is actually a poetic song composed by Goda Devi explaining to her friends her own dream of marrying Lord Krishna. The programme came to an end with Goda Kalyanam.
