AP Youth Commits Suicide Demanding SCS To The State

Nakkapalli, Payakaraopeta: 28 year-old Doddi Trinath committed suicide demanding Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh. Stating that denial of SCS to the state was the reason behind his death, the unemployed youth climed on to a cell phone tower in Visakhapatnam district and hanged himself.

Trinath questioned Chandrababu Naidu on his indiffference in the SCS issue, in his suicide note. His note is further reported to have said that his sacrifice would be of some significance only if Special Category Status is given to Andhra Pradesh. The suicide note addressing Chandrababu Naidu was found in his pocket.

Trinath hailed from Rajamundry was frustrated over not finding a job after having completed his undergraduate degree course. The victim came to Namavaram village in Payakaraopeta mandal in Visakhapatnam district along with mother last year to stay with his sister. He began to help his brother-in-law, Narsing an employee in the local Vempadu panchayat, in Nakkapalli mandal with work at the office, including maintaining records.

On Friday morning Trinath left home did not return till late in the evening, leading his family members to search for him. Around 4 in the afternoon, Trinath was seen distributing pamphlets near the cell phone tower. He is also reported to have carried a nylon rope. When a caller told his family members about this, they rushed to the place, only to learn that he had hanged himself by then.

Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.

YSR Congress party leaders have held Chandrababu Naidu responsible for the victim's unfortunate death and have demanded a suitable ex-gratia for members of his family. Party leaders called on the family to convey their condolences.
