YS Jagan Pays Tribute To Bapuji On Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th Birth Anniversary
Amaravati: October 2 is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, most commonly known as Mahatma Gandhi and Father of the nation.
He was an Indian lawyer, anti-colonial nationalist, and political ethicist, who employed non-violence to lead a successful campaign for India's independence. He is a symbol of peace and truth. He started the Satyagraha (non-violence) movement for the Indian freedom struggle.
Gandhi Jayanti is one of the three national holidays of India and also this day is celebrated as International Day of Non-Violence. This day is marked by prayer services and tributes all over continent. Prayers are also offered at his memorial Raj Ghat, New Delhi where he was cremated. His favourite religious song Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram is sung in his memory. His life is an inspiration for millions today!
Many politicians have paid tribute to Bapuji on this day.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy took to the microblogging site, Twitter to pay his tributes to Gandhiji. "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others'. Fondly remembering the guiding light of millions around the world, Mahatma Gandhi, on his 150th birth anniversary", he tweeted.
