BJP Hints At TDP Wipe-out As Opposition In AP
Hyderabad: Expressing confidence that the BJP would emerge as a strong party in the State of Andhra Pradesh, BJP General Secretary P Muralidhar Rao said the BJP would also play the role of the main Opposition. Speaking to media persons on Tuesday, Muralidhar Rao said that the leaders of other parties (TDP) in the State were in touch with the BJP, hinting that they might soon join the Saffron party.
He said that in Telangana, TRS was their focus and it was only the BJP which had the mettle to face them.Talking about the strategy, he said that in Telangana they have two challenges to work upon. One was to create confidence in the BJP and the other was to divert the Congress’ 29 per cent vote to the BJP. "The caste card would work in AP, but would not in Telangana," he said.
Muralidhar Rao said that the BJP was going to conduct 400 meetings nationwide and one meeting in every parliamentary constituency in Telangana. Various topics and welfare measures promulgated by the BJP, the advantages of Article 370 for Kashmir and other schemes would be enumerated in detail to the people through these meetings, he said.
