Now, TDP Workers Brand Nara Lokesh Pappu For Endorsing Saaho
Amaravati: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national general secretary Nara Lokesh faced an embarrassing situation when he was severely trolled by his own party men on social media. They were mighty upset with his tweet, where the TDP MLC had endorsed the multilingual film ‘Saaho’, starring Baahubali fame Prabhas.
Check out the Tweet:
Saaho is a big budget extravaganza and I’m looking forward to watching it much like many of Prabhas’s fans across the world. I truly wish the film to be a blockbuster. I request TDP supporters and Prabhas fans to watch the film and spam the idiotic article out of this orbit!!!
This was tweeted after he had fired a popular website known for its insinuating articles on political and film personalities of the two Telugu states. The website had posted an article about TDP's negative social media campaign against the film Saaho, which he called as idiotic. In his tweet he wished for the film to be a blockbuster and that he was also looking forward to the big budgeted extravaganza like many of the Prabhas's fans across the world.
This tweet angered the TDP sympathisers who vented their ire at Nara Lokesh on Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms. They even went on to call him ‘pappu’ for his usual foot-in-the mouth statements that he has become famously known for.
The entire fiasco started when a section of the TDP workers called for a boycott on the film Saaho. This was initiated because Prabhas during an interview as part of the film promotions had praised Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, when asked if he could be called the ' Andhra Baahubali'. Though the actor clearly stated that he had no idea about politics, he just answered in neutral tone that it was the people's belief that the State would progress under YS Jagan's leadership.
Not just this, Prabhas's uncle former union minister and BJP leader U Krishnam Raju had made comments about the TDP after their dismal loss in the General Elections. He said that the TDP was on the verge of closure in AP and also called TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu a “dead snake”.
This had upset the TDP cadre of a particular community. And with Lokesh tweeting about rubbishing the article and supporting the movie, the TDP sympathisers were disappointed with his stance.
They questioned Lokesh, as to how he could ask the party cadre to promote Saaho after the remarks made by Krishnam Raju and Prabhas praising the YSRCP leader YS Jagan.
They even went to the extent of abusing both Lokesh and his father-in-law N Balakrishna for being unfit in politics. One user brought out the fact that Lokesh had never promoted the two biopic films made by Balakrishna about his father and the TDP founder late NT Rama Rao.
