Andhra Pradesh Special Chief Secretary PV Ramesh Relieved Of His Duties - Sakshi Post

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Ministers Special Chief Secretary P V Ramesh has been relieved of his duties on attaining superannuation age late on Wednesday with the Centre not issuing any order on the state government's request for three month extension.

The Centre also did not pass any order over his date of birth issue, which is pending before the Central Administrative Tribunal.

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) did not issue any orders on the states request for extension of Rameshs service by three months, according to a government order (GO).

Claiming that his age mentioned in the certificate was wrong and it should be October 10, 1960, the 1985 batch IAS officer has moved the Central Administrative Tribunal.

Though the state government also wrote to the Centre on the 1985 batch IAS officers date of birth issue, the DoPT did not issue any orders.

Therefore, taking into account all the factors, and the fact that state government has no competence in the matters of change of date of birth or extension of service, government hereby orders that P V Ramesh shall be relieved of his duties on attaining the age of superannuation, Chief Secretary L V Subrahmanyam said in the GO late Wednesday night.

Ramesh is now tipped to be appointed as an advisor to the Chief Minister in a non-official capacity.

A decision on this is expected after Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy returns on August 5 from his pilgrimage to Jerusalem.

Ramesh told PTI he filed a petition in the CAT some time ago seeking a change in his date of birth.

I am 15 months younger than what my certificate says, he said.

As per practice, the state government issued orders in November last year listing out the IAS officers due for retirement in 2019.

Ramesh, who returned to AP cadre from Central deputation in May, wrote to the state government on July 12 (two days after his birthday) that his date of birth be changed to October 10, 1960.

The state government forwarded the Special Chief Secretaries request to the Centre on July 25. The very next day, it wrote another letter to the Centre seeking extension of Ramesh's service by three months, beyond July 31.

The Centre did not issue any orders on the two requests. (PTI)
