YS Jagan Entrusts Village Secretariats With Handling Ration Cards
Amaravati: Describing it as a revolutionary way forward, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said henceforth ration cards would be handled and distributed by Village Secretariats, which will become operational from October 2.
The Chief Minister held a video conference with District Collectors and SPs on Monday to take stock of Spandana grievance redressal programme being held on every Monday across the State.
Expressing his happiness over the efficiency with which the programme is being carried out, YS Jagan informed officials that the number of unresolved and pending grievances came down to 24 percent by July 19 as against 59 percent recorded on July 12. He, however, reiterated that the quality in the resolution of issues should don't be compromised as a positive message should be conveyed to people through Spandana programme.
The Chief Minister said all issues pertaining to ration cards and housing should be resolved within 72 hours by Village Secretariats. He also drew the attention of officials to ensure that no corruption should be permitted in resolution of issues as well as in the general working of district administration and particularly in police stations.
With the reports of lack of sand availability in the market and widespread power outages in some areas of the State, he asked officials to immediately attend to the issues. He instructed officials to ensure that all the preparatory work should be done with regard to housing scheme in order to give away new houses to eligible by Ugadi.
