Chandrababu Shielding Lingamaneni Ramesh In Corrupt Land Deals: Alla Ramakrishna Reddy

CRDA chairman Alla Ramakrishna Reddy  - Sakshi Post

Vijayawada: In an act of quid pro quo, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu is safeguarding the illegal business interests of Lingamaneni Ramesh only because the latter has given a palatial house to the former on the embankment of Krishna river, CRDA chairman Alla Ramakrishna Reddy has alleged.

Speaking to press persons here on Saturday, Ramakrishna Reddy accused Ramesh of indulging in irregularities to the tune of Rs 40 crore to Rs 50 crore in land deals in his Mangalagiri constituency. He said he would apprise the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of irregularities in the land deals that had taken place in his constituency in last five years and request him to order a probe into the same.

Stating that Lingamaneni Ramesh came up with layouts in 40 acres for which the necessary layout fee to the Gram Panchayat and build permit fee was not paid, Reddy said the villas which sprang there were sold at exorbitant rates at Rs 5 crore each during 2005-2006.

"They had shown that the registration fee for one square yard as low as Rs 4,000 and in the process Rs 50 crore to Rs 60 crore loss was caused to State exchequer. This was possible by diverting the attention of the system and administrative mechanism. Chandrababu Naidu is now saving Lingamaneni Ramesh who captured Rs 250 crore worth lands for a song," he pointed out.

Meanwhile, the CRDA chairman warned that notices would be served on all illegal constructions under the Capital Region and a comprehensive probe would be ordered to uncover all the irregularities that had taken place in land deals. He also cautioned prospective buyers who wanted to invest in the region not to get into trouble by purchasing lands or flats without any proper documentation.
