TDP Kapu Leaders Thota Trimurthulu-Ganta Meeting Triggers Buzz
Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam Party appears to be going through a massive internal churning following the party's humiliating defeat in the Lok Sabha and AP assembly elections. Several leaders have already made a beeline towards the BJP, including four of its Rajya Sabha MPs. Speculation is rife that leaders of the Kapu community are unhappy with Chandrababu's style of functioning and are planning to move towards greener political pastures. It must be pointed out that Kapu leaders from the TDP had reportedly convened an informal meeting once to chalk out future course of action.
Meanwhile, a prominent leader from the Kapu community in TDP, Thota Trimurthulu, met another prominent Kapu colleague from the party, former minister, Ganta Srinivasa Rao here on Thursday. Trimurthulu had earlier convened a meeting of Kapu leaders in Kakinada. Moreover, he did not show up at a meeting of TDP leaders setting tongues wagging.
At the same time, some of the Kapu leaders who were a part of the meeting convened by Trimurthulu, are set to meet TDP chief, Chandrababu Naidu on Friday. Trimurthulu's meeting with Ganta Srinivasa Rao has triggered widespread speculation. In the recent past, rumours did the rounds that Ganta Srinivasa Rao would join the BJP with 15 TDP MLAs.
