District Portal For Greater Transparency: YS Jagan

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy - Sakshi Post

Undavalli: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy urged district collectors at the Collectors’ Conference on Monday here to maintain a portal for each district. He said that this portal should include all departments, the judiciary and police wings as well. YS Jagan also said that all proceedings, orders, FIRs should be available on the portal. It should also show a list of beneficiaries of welfare schemes displayed on the panchayat wall. He asked the officials to take feedback from village volunteers and the village Secretariat to improve governance and ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes percolate to the targeted sections without any kind of discrimination.

YS Jagan told collectors to be cheerful in their interaction with common citizens. He asked them to be accessible to people and to meet them with a smile. The Chief Minister directed collectors to set aside Monday for complaints and grievances and mark every third Friday for resolving problems of staff.

The chief minister exhorted collectors and joint collectors to make surprise visits to hostels and primary health centres and spend the night there. They would then gain insight on a first-hand basis into the functioning of these places, as also the way in which teachers and staff work. He asked them to interact with villagers in the morning and find out about the implementation of welfare schemes and whether they were reaching the targeted sections. YS Jagan directed officials to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reach SC/BC/ST and minority communities to the saturation level.

The chief minister pointed out to district collectors that agriculture, health and education were priority sectors.
