YSRCP Bapatla MLA Kona Raghupathi Files Nomination For The Post Of Deputy Speaker
Amaravati: YSR Congress Party MLA Kona Raghupathi filed his nomination for the post of Deputy Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Monday.He was supported by ten party MLAs who signed his party nomination papers. However, this morning, the speaker Tammineni Sitaram issued a notification regarding the election of the Deputy Speaker. Nominations for the election of the Deputy Speaker can be filed until 5 pm today. The deputy speaker is due to be elected at 11 am on the fifth day of the AP Assembly Session on Tuesday.
Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram released the Notification for election of Deputy Speaker of Andhra Pradesh on Monday. The Deputy Speaker will be elected on June 18 at 11 am, he said.
After the vote of thanks on Governor ESL Narasimhan's speech began in the Assembly, Salur MLA Rajanna Dora introduced the vote of thanks. Government Whip Budi Mutyalanaidu upheld the resolution.

Kona Raghupati whose father Kona Prabhakar Rao, was the former Governor of Maharashtra and Sikkim , also worked as the Assembly Speaker for combined state of Andhra Pradesh in 1980-81 in the Congress government. Interestingly now his son Kona Raghupati will get the Deputy Speaker's post in the YSRCP government in the newly carved state of Andhra Pradesh. Raghupati, a staunch supporter of YSRCP, was twice elected to Legislative Assembly on the YSRCP ticket from Bapatla Assembly constituency. He has been loyal to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and the YSRCP.
The deputy speaker's election will be formally declared in the House on Tuesday,as Raghupati's election is a mere formality.
