Impatient Chandrababu Leveling Baseless Allegations Against YS Jagan: Umareddy

Amaravati: YSRCP senior leader Umareddy Venkateswarlu hit out at TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu for leveling criticism against the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government on issues pertaining to irrigation.

Speaking to press persons here on Tuesday, Venkateswarlu wondered how could a senior politician like Chandrababu who always wore his 40 years of political experience on his sleeve could criticise a new government in the office which had hardly been for few days.

“It’s not even 10 days since YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has become the chief minister. And you already start leveling criticism against his government. Is this what your 40 years of political experience?” he asked Chandrababu pointedly.

Venkateswarlu was responding to Chandrababu’s recent allegations against the YS Jagan government’s decision to review and relook at the irrigation projects taken up during the TDP government. “Is Chandrababu perturbed by these reviews that they might expose the corrupt deals of his government? Chandrababu as a chief minister has never started even one new irrigation project,” he lashed out.

Referring to Chandrababu’s recent request that the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government should release the last two installments of loan waiver for farmers that the TDP government couldn’t do, Venkateswarlu wondered how the new government could fulfill a personal promise of an outgoing chief minister.

“This was your personal promise. And five years was your tenure,” he said and alleged that the TDP government had cheated the farming community by bringing down the amount spent on loan-waiver from the promised Rs 84,000 crore to Rs 24,000 crore.

On Chandrababu’s comments that there were attacks against TDP workers and leaders, Venkateswarlu pointedly asked the TDP chief if his government had investigated into at least one political attack or murder. He reminded that the TDP government had mocked the attack against the then Opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy by labeling it as “Kodi Katti”.

He alleged that fear had gripped TDP circles with YSRCP government’s decision to order reverse tendering to probe into corrupt practices that had taken place under the Chandrababu Naidu’s government. He also castigated Chandrababu for seeking permission from the government to use ‘Praja Vedika’ in Undavalli for the latter’s residence, pointing out that several environmental guidelines were flouted while building that house and it could prove detrimental to Krishna river.
