RGV’s Next Film To Create Caste Conflict?
Vijayawada: Sensational filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma who doesn’t miss an opportunity to stoke controversy made some remarks on Sunday that could easily set off mélange of reactions from those in political circles and on social media.
The decimation of TDP and the emergence of YSRCP into power league in the recent elections have given the maverick director to display his eccentric side once again in the public. He announced that his next film will be titled as “Kamma Rajyam Lo Kadapa Reddlu”, not before his deliberate tongue in cheek remark of calling “Kamma Rajyam Lo Kadapa Rowdilu”.
For anyone who at least have a basic knowledge of politics in Andhra Pradesh and how caste is interwoven into politicking in the State understands as to which communities are in the line to receive Varma’s ensuing mischief.
In wake of TDP causing obstruction to the release of his last film, Lakshm’s NTR, Varma took potshots at the party and their leadership. In a direct reference to TDP party’s symbol, he said he had to wait until the cycle had a puncture for his movie to be released in Andhra Pradesh. The recent elections saw TDP suffer massive drubbing against the YSRCP candidates.
TDP leaders and supporters moved the court for stalling the release of Lakshmi’s NTR as the film portrayed TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu in a poor light.
