Rapaka Varaprasad Rao Razole Jana SenaParty candidate - Sakshi Post

Amaravati: Suspense over whether or not Jana Sena Party (JSP) could open its tally at the Andhra Pradesh Elections 2019 came to a rather embarrassing end by Thursday evening. After having contested in 140 seats out of a total of 175, JSP was able to win only one seat in Razole. JSP candidate Rapaka Varaprasad Rao emerged victorious contesting from Razole Constituency (SC Reserved) and this is his second victory.

Rapaka Varaprasad Rao, a known figure in Razole won the seat on a Congress ticket in 2009 where he polled 1,31,598 votes. After which he switched loyalty to the BJP, but resigned immediately after the TDP decided to give the ticket to Gollapalli Suryarao as per the understanding over the seat sharing during the 2014 elections. He contested as an Independent and lost to TDP’s Gollapalli Surya Rao by polling a dismal 318 votes.

After a round of speculations, he joined the Jana Sena Party in September 2018 and was again pitted against TDP’s Surya Rao and YSRCP’s Bonthu Rajeswara Rao in the 2019 assembly elections and won .
