Chandrababu Jittery After Exit Polls: YSRCP
Senior YSR Congress Party leader and spokesman, C. Ramachandraiah told the media on Tuesday that TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu was acting jittery as he was unable to digest the results of exit polls aired by various media outlets on Sunday night. He said that election results would be announced in a couple of days and Chandrababu already knows where he stands. Out of desperation, Chandrababu is blaming EVMs and the Election Commission and is acting as a self-styled saviour of democracy.
C. Ramachandraiah reminded the media that Chandrababu Naidu had lured 23 MLAs from the YSR Congress Party into the TDP and made four of them ministers in his cabinet. The TDP chief who calls himself a saviour of democracy should ask himself whether this act makes him a democrat? Judging by this action does it prove that he believes in the Constitution, he questioned?
C. Ramachandraiah asked Chandrababu as to how he contributed to strengthening democracy. The TDP chief formed Janmabhoomi committees in villages diluting Panchayat Raj system in the process, he pointed out. It was under Chandrababu's watch that CBI was barred for the first time in the history of Andhra Pradesh.
Was this an act of democracy?, he asked. Moreover, he has the distinction of reversing the Election Commission of India's action against chief secretary and three IPS officers, who were transferred and going to court challenging the action of the ECI in the matter. Was this democratic, he further questioned.
