Nandigama Suresh Lashes Out At Chandrababu On Krishna River Diversion
Vijayawada: YSR Congress Party Bapatla Lok Sabha candidate Nandigama Suresh slammed Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu of overseeing the loot of natural resources in the state. Addressing a media conference at the party headquarters here, he expressed shock at the manner in which acres of land were being reclaimed by filling up the river Krishna. What the TDP government was doing was unthinkable, he said. He wondered how the TDP chief, who never tired of bragging about his 40 years of experience in politics, Chandrababu was doing all this for his son, Lokesh, the YSRCP leader said.
Suresh observed that even God would not forgive people who interfere with the course of nature. He added that the minister Devineni Uma was acting like a trusted personal servant of the TDP chief and Lokesh and not the people of the state.
The YSRCP will not allow Krishna's course to be altered. Nandigama Suresh reminded the TDP chief that the National Green Tribunal (NGT) had slapped a fine of Rs. 100 crore on the Chandrababu-led government for its brazen violation of environmental laws and indiscriminate sand mining.
Suresh said that local boatmen are being threatened not to ferry YSRCP leaders and told that cases would be imposed on them. He wondered how long the TDP leaders thought they could threaten these poor boatmen, adding that May 23 will spell the death knell of the TDP rule in the state.
The YSRCP will probe the entire matter of sand mining and attempt to fill up the river Krishna by TDP and plunderers will be brought to justice and sent to jail, Suresh said. The YSRCP leader also mentioned TDP's grabbing of Agrigold assets cheating the poor victims who had already been betrayed by the firm.
The Bapatla MP candidate referred to TDP's loot in the name of Amaravati and remarked that sand, land, river banks nothing was spared by the Chandrababu government. It was ironical that Chandrababu who is actually an institution wrecker calls himself a saviour of democracy, he commented.
