Buggana Slams Chandrababu Over Election Code Violation
Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Dhone MLA Buggana Rajendranath Reddy strongly criticised Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for his actions, when the Model Code of Conduct was in place after the elections. He reminded Chandrababu that it was only during natural dissters and emergencies that a Chief Minister could conduct review meetings. Speaking to the media at the YSRCP Central Office in Hyderabad on Friday, Buggana alleged that to keep his poll promises Chandrababu was diverting State funds. He told the media that Home Guards and Outsourcing staff were not paid salaries till date.
Buggana questioned Chandrababu as to why he did not monitor the Polavaram project between 2014 and 2016 and that he had to answer as to what he did with Rs 1600 Crores used for funding the Pattiseema project. He also spoke about how the police machinery had deteriorated in Chandrababu's period and asked whether the act of buying opposition MPs' and MLAs' is what Chandrababu perceived as upholding democracy.
Buggana also spoke about the development of the capital region in the five years of Chandrababu's regime. There was large-scale corruption in the funds allotted for the CRDA, he said. Private companies were allotted land at the rate of Rs 40 lakhs per acre, but the government organisations were made to buy land at Rs 4 crore per acre. Buggana commented that Chandrababu and the TDP leaders were indulging in real estate business in the name of Capital development.
Buggana also brought to fore Chandrababu's actions in connection with the Data Theft scam where voters data of both the Telugu States were stolen using the Seva Mitra App of the TDP. He questioned as to how the TDP could take a person like Hariprasad who was involved in an EVM theft case to the Election Commission . If Chandrababu was confident of winning elections why was he complaining to the Election Commissions about EVMs malfunctioning, Buggana asked.
