Re-polling At Two Places In Guntur
Amaravati: The Election Commission has called for re-polling at two polling booths in Guntur district. CEO Gopal Krishna Dwivedi in a press release on Saturday said that the polling booth number 94 at Narasaraopet and polling booth number 244 at Guntur West Assembly segment in Guntur district have been referred for re-polling.
Based on the report submitted by Guntur district collector, who found irregularities in the polling, the details of the two polling booths have been sent to Election Commission of India for conducting re-polling.
As per the details, 300 people who were standing in queue were given slips and 30 additional votes got polled at the 244th polling booth of Guntur West Assembly segment. In the 94th polling booth, the voting could not take place due to the clashes between TDP and YSR Congress party.
The AP Election Commission is likely to finalize the date for re-polling on Saturday.
