AP Elections: YS Jagan, Family Cast Their Votes Early In Pulivendula
Pulivendula (YSR Kadapa dist): YSR Congress President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his family members exercised their franchise here today and appealed to the people to vote without fear.
The YSRCP President was among the early birds to cast his vote at the polling station in Bakarapuram of Pulivendula mandal of YSR Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh.
Wearing his trademark spotless white shirt the people’s leader entered the polling station to cast his vote after which he received the blessings of an elderly woman.
Police had a tough time clearing the room and the YSRCP chief, with his smile, greeted the officials and cast his vote first in the booth for Lok Sabha followed by the Assembly EVM.
He told the waiting media outside, that his appeal to all is to vote without fear and vote for change. He replied to a few questions from the national media that had thronged the polling station he reserved his comments on sensitive issues.
When asked about the transfer of DGP, he said the YSRCP had made a sincere request but it was not considered by the EC. During 2009, it the same TDP had complained to the Election Commission to change the DGP and the EC had conceded to the demand and shifted the top cop. Now, in the same spirit of democracy we complained but the EC did not respond, he said.
YSRCP Honorary President YS Vijayamma after exercising her franchise told media that she expected to see a positive change and appealed to the people to vote for a credible party that would bring a welfare state.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister Sharmila and wife YS Bharathi also cast their votes and were greeted and cheered by people at the polling station.
