TDP MP CM Ramesh’s House Raided In Kadapa
Kadapa: Nearly 50 police officers reached the Telugu Desam Party Rajya Sabha MP CM Ramesh's residence at Potladutti in Kadapa district and conducted searches. The raids were conducted on the orders of district SP. The police also conducted searches in the houses of Ramesh’s followers in Potladurthi village in Yerraguntla block.
CM Ramesh who is a close aide of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is also considered one of his benamis, has expressed his anger over what he described as intrusion. He also got into a heated argument with the police officers claiming that they were searching his house without a warrant.
The TDP MP has been on the IT and Enforcement Directorate (ED) radar for quite some time. He alleged that these searches were political vendetta by the BJP government and that they were plotting these raids in collusion with the YSR Congress Party. He went to the extent of calling the election commission a tool in the hands of the BJP. These raids come after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) attached Rs 315 Crore worth of properties of Sujana Group belonging to TDP MP YS Chowdary followed by the Income Tax department who tried to conduct searches at the residence of TTD chairman and TDP’s Mydukur Assembly candidate Putta Sudhakar Yadav on Wednesday. However, CM Ramesh reached the place prevented the officials from going ahead with the searches, leading to tense moments.
