AP DGP Meets Election Commissioners In Delhi

New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh DGP, RP Thakur meet Central Election Commissioners Ashok Lavasa and Sushil Chandra in the national capital. He was asked to explain on complaints regarding former DG Intelligence, AB Venkateswara Rao, functioning in an unofficial capacity.

The Election Commissioners are learnt to have made it clear that no one however mighty will be spared by the Election Commission when it comes to violation of the Model Code and that elections should be free and fair.

DG Thakur was divested of his responsibilities as DG Anti-Corruption Bureau earlier. Shankhabrata Bagchi has taken over as DG of ACB. There have been serious allegations by the YSR Congress Party leaders of pro-TDP conduct on the part of DGP Thakur.
