Tamanna First Transgender From AP To Contest Elections, Take On Nara Lokesh In Mangalagiri

Tamanna Simhadri - Sakshi Post

Tamanna Simhadri, a transgender, filed nomination on Monday for the Mangalagiri Assembly seat. This is the place Nara Lokesh is also contesting from.

The office of the Election officer was packed on Monday with candidates as it was the last day of filing the nominations. While in conversation with the press after filing the nomination, she dared minister Nara Lokesh to resign from his MLC and minister post and then contest for the elections.

She also appealed to the people of Mangalagiri constituency to support her and vote for her so that she can serve them.

She had decided initially to contest in the elections through the Jana Sena Party’s ticket, but they denied a ticket, and then Tamanna decided to contest in the polls as an independent.

Tamanna predicted a massive defeat for TDP’s Nara Lokesh. Tamanna added that transgender has very less representation in politics, they need to be represented in the assembly and the parliament.

Only then will they be able to give voice to the problems they face.
