Dwivedi Instructs AP DGP To Relieve YSRCP Hindupur MP Candidate Gorantla Madhav
Andhra Pradesh chief electoral officer, Gopala Krishna Dviwedi instructed the DGP of Andhra Pradesh, RP Thakur to relieve the Hindupur MP candidate from the YSR Congress Party and former circle inspector Gorantla Madhav from his duties with immediate effect.
It may be recalled that Gorantla Madhav had resigned from his post as CI to take a plunge in politics and had submitted his application for VRS more than two months ago.
Madhav stated that the additional DG Intelligence AB Venkatesara Rao was responsible for the dilatory tactics being employed by DIG Kurnool, who has not relieved him as yet making his nomination difficult as the last date approaches.
On Friday, the Hindupur MP candidate from YSRCP met the AP CEO, apprised him of the situation and told him that despite the tribunal's clear orders, the AP govt was not implementing them.
He blamed additional DG Intelligence AB Venkateswar Rao saying that he was behaving like a political functionary in contravention of service rules laid down for government officers.
The chief electoral office, Gopala Krishna Dviwedi who heard him out wrote a letter to the DGP of the state directing him to relieve Gorantla Madhav with immediate effect. This comes right after Gorantla had approached the AP tribunal seeking justice in the matter following the delaying tactics used by the ruling party.
The tribunal ordered the police officials in the state government to relieve the former CI to enable him to submit his nomination papers for the Hindupur Lok Sabha seat. The tribunal had instructed Kurnool DIG to relieve Gorrantla and implement his VRS immediately.
However, the Kurnool DIG Nagendra Kumar has done the vanishing act over the past two days, according to Gorantla Madhav. With the last date for nominations, fast approaching,
Gorrantla Madhav was forced to lodge a complaint with the AP CEO and hinted at a political conspiracy in not implementing his VRS proposal. He also apprised Dviwedi of the instructions of the tribunal to which the AP CEO wrote a letter to RP Thakur instructing the DGP to relieve Gorantla Madhav immediately.
The Hindupur YSRCP candidate remarked that AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and other TDP leaders were afraid to take him on politically and were therefore resorting to such mean politics.
He observed that the chief minister himself was involved in denying him his VRS on time and was exerting pressure on officials through the additional DG Intelligence, AB Venkateswar Rao.
Madhav said that he would meet the DGP following fresh instructions from the AP CEO to the highest police official in the state.
