Dhone /Kurnool: Dhone Assembly constituency is located in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh and comes under the Nandyal Lok Sabha constituency. It is one of the 14 assembly constituencies in Kurnool district with Bethamcherla, Peapli and Dhone municipality mandals.

As per the estimates of 2011 census, out of total 2,82,650 population 65.23% is rural and 34.77% is urban population.

As per the voter list of 2018, there are 177518 voters and 287 polling stations in this constituency.

Voter turnout in the 2014 assembly election was 73.77% where as it was 73.28% in 2014 Lok Sabha Elections. The BJP, the INC, the YSRCP and the TDP got %, 1.31%, 49.86% and 43.21% votes respectively in 2014 Assembly Election while %, 1.48%, 50.46% and 42.58% in 2014 Parliamentary Election respectively.

Buggana Rajendranath Reddy (YSRCP) is the present MLA of Dhone Legislative Assembly.

Buggana Rajendranath Reddy is a Hyderabad Public School alumni and a computer science engineering graduate from Bellary. A native of Bethamcherla, his father was a Sarpanch there.After his engineering Buggana returned and was elected as Sarpanch for two terms. He is well aware of the problems faced by the people of his constituency at the ground level, as he has been living there for more than 25 years.

In his maiden elections he defeated Telugu Desam Party Candidate K E Prathap ( brother of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishna Murthy ) with a majority of 11,152 votes. Buggana Rajendranath Reddy will be pitted against KE Prathap once again in the 2019 AP Assembly Elections.
