TDP Leaders Fear Stricken Of Evident Defeat
Amaravati:As the process of nomination has begun, MP and MLA candidates contesting for the Telugu Desam Party are fear stricken as their defeat at the ballot seems evident.
Some of them had opined that they have been granted tickets of the constituencies where their community is fewer in numbers and where the party has no hopes of winning the seat. It is learned that the MP candidates from the party namely Sidda Raghava Rao, Beeda Mastan Rao, Satya Prabha are expressing their dissatisfaction over the allocation of tickets from the constituencies they are contesting from.
TDP supremo Chandrababu, who claims to have worked relentlessly for the welfare of the BC community has only offered 5 tickets to them. Meanwhile, YSR Congress Party has declared seven candidates from the community.
In constituencies like Kurnool, Vizianagaram and Rajahmundry where the population of BCs are in huge numbers, TDP has offered the tickets to upper castes candidates namely Ashok Gajapathi Raju- Vizianagaram, Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy - Kurnool, Rajahmundry- Maganti Roopa.
Meanwhile, former MP GV Harsha Kumar from Congress, who lambasted Chandrababu, had joined TDP. It is reported that he was promised the ticket for Amalapuram at the time of his joining. However, Harsha Kumar had been denied the seat and Ganti Harish had been allocated the party ticket from Amalapuram.
GV Harsha Kumar had bowed down to touch the feet of Chandrababu while joining the party this led to a huge uproar from the Dalit associations then.
