Election Code Violated In AP: Cash, Ganja, Bicycles And Sports Kits Seized
All departments have been alerted by the Chief Electoral officer, about the announcement of the Code of Conduct by the Election Commission of India.
Within four days of the announcement of the Code of Conduct about Rs 29,91,99,984 as cash, 13.577 kg of gold, along with 31.5 kg silver and others material across the state were seized by the government and handed over to the Income Tax Department.
This was achieved by setting up 31 Border Excise check posts, 46 temporary check posts,18 Border Mobile Party check posts and 161 Commercial Tax Mobile teams, out of which 60 teams are on road.
The Chief Electoral officer Dwivedi, stated that all wall writings, hoardings, posters/banners which causes defacement in whatever form have been removed on the Government properties, situated in all districts, within 24 hours from the announcement of the Election Schedule.
Enforcement departments have already activated their check-posts, Mobile squads, control rooms, toll-free numbers etc. which have been publicised. Several meetings have also been held with the ED.
Daily reports are being received, said the CEO.
He also informed that the departments seized 190 gelatine sticks, 50 Kg ammonium nitrate, 50 kg binding wire and ganja. 165 sports kits and 588 cycles were also seized added Dvivedi.
