Data Theft: IT Grids Ashok Dakavaram Ducks SIT Summons Again
Hyderabad: The prime accused in the massive data theft case rocking the Telugu states, CEO of IT Grids India Pvt. Ltd., Ashok Dakavaram failed to appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the Telangana government.
Led by IG, Stephen Ravindra, the SIT is probing the data theft relating to citizens of AP and Telangana and had sent summons to the IT Grids CEO to appear before it on Wednesday, March 13. The notices were sent on March 11 and after finding Ashok's house in KPHB Colony of Kukatpally locked, pasted notices on his house.
Earlier, SIT officials had sent notices to the CEO of IT Grids by Whatsapp. Ashok Dakavaram however, failed to respond to the notices for appearance before SIT.
It may be recalled that whistle-blower, Lokeswara Reddy had filed a complaint with the Madhapur police on March 2 seeking an investigation into the theft relating to sensitive personal information of 3.6 crore citizens of AP.
Another individual named Dasaratharami Reddy also lodged a similar complaint with the SR Nagar police, following which Hyderabad and Cyberabad police registered cases. A special investigation team (SIT) was
was constituted by the Telangana government.
The SIT recorded the statements of both the complainants, Lokeswara Reddy and Dasaratharami Reddy, along with those of IT Grids employees Phani, Bhaskar, Vikram and Chandrasekhar.
Meanwhile, the SIT is awaiting information from Amazon Web Services and Google on the data storage details. Experts are on the job of retrieving data from laptops and computers seized from IT Grids India Pvt. Ltd., and are hopeful of doing so in a short time.
