Question Mark On Nara Lokesh’s Electoral Debut

Amaravati: Will he, won't he? A question mark hangs over the candidature of General Secretary of TDP, IT minister and chief minister Chandrababu Naidu's son, Nara Lokesh in the April 11 assembly elections. There is widespread propaganda set in motion by the ruling party that Lokesh would stand on his own two firm electoral feet and the TDP is reported to be scouting for a 'safe' seat for him.

Bheemili, it was learnt, was one such seat, but of late the feedback the TDP has been getting from the ground is, that the seaside constituency is not as 'safe' as it was assumed. Visakha North was earlier cited at point in sections of the yellow media as a likely seat earmarked for Lokesh, but that was later overruled.

In recent days the names of Mangalagiri, Penamaluru and Pedakoorapadu are being mentioned as 'safe' seats for Lokesh. On the whole, there is widespread confusion on Lokesh's assembly entry. TDP supremo, Chandrababu is not making things any easier. One major factor weighing against Nara Lokesh is his inability to speak in public without making bloopers. Invariably, all his speeches provide ammo to the social media, not to speak of opposition.
