Rajampeta Yet To Wake Up To Model Code?
Rajampeta: The Model Code of Conduct, which came into effect from Sunday evening, has sent the Andhra Pradesh District Machinery into action. They have started removing the flexis of various political parties.
They have also started covering the statues and busts of NT Rama Rao and Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
However, in the Rajampeta constituency, the Poll officials did not start the enforcement process as the election schedule notification was announced on a Sunday which was a holiday.
Despite notification and instructions from higher officials, the district officials were yet to remove the Jana Sena Party and ruling Party flags in the town.
Rural Development Officer Naganna said that the Model Code of Conduct would be enforced strictly and all the Mandals and local villages have started the implementation of the same.
By Monday, there will be full fledged establishment of the Code, he said.
P Sriharibabu, Municipal Commissioner of Rajampeta said that after the Code came into effect, all the hoardings and flexis of political parties were being removed from the Rajampeta Municipality since Sunday evening.
