Actor Ali With YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Senior Telugu comedian and actor Ali joined the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Monday morning. Putting all rumors to rest , he met the YSR Congress party President and leader of the Opposition, Andhra Pradesh Assembly YS Jaganmohan Reddy at his Lotus Pond residence and expressed his intention to join the party . YS Jagan welcomed him into the party fold with the customary party shawl.

Talking to reporters after the meeting he said that making YS Jagan the Chief minister of Andhra Pradesh was his main aim and said that in 1999 he had canvassed for a party and now he was going to canvass for YSRCP in 2019.

He also clarified that he had met YS Jagan earlier and was invited by him to join the party, but he had asked for time. YS Jagan had said that I could take my time and now in his presence I have joined the party , Ali said.

Making it clear that he was not going to contest this time and would focus only on campaigning. He said that if he was to contest it would be from Rajahmundry or Vijayawada only and YS Jagan has asked me to focus on campaigning and that he would give a suitable position later, he explained.

About Pawan Kalyan

Ali said that he had gone to wish Pawan Kalyan and Chandrababu Naidu for New Year. He said that he hadn't seen the kind of welfare schemes or commitment in the TDP like YS Jagan's . Elaborating further about his friendship with Pawan Kalyan, he said that he friendship and politics were two different things and that Pawan was his friend. Since the people are asking for Jagan he had decided to follow their mandate and joined the YSRCP, he concluded.

With the release of the Elections schedule yesterday the political scene is picking up pace in the state of Andhra Pradesh. On the 7th of this month, Telugu film actress and former Congress MLA Jayasudha said goodbye to TDP and joined the YSRCP joining the party. Lok Sabha Polls in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will be completed in a single phase i.e on April 11.

Elections to Andhra Pradesh Assembly constituencies will be held on April 11 .
