Rapthadu Swerving Towards YSRCP, Paritala Sunitha Gets Another Shock

TDP Minister Paritala Sunita - Sakshi Post

Rapthadu/Anantapur: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Minister for Women Empowerment, Child Welfare, Paritala Sunitha is at the receiving end in her own constituency of Rapthadu. In what could be seen as a mass exodus of TDP leaders joining the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), a senior leader and former Chairman of the AP Irrigation Development Corporation Bukkacharla Nallappareddy and his brothers Veerareddy and Subbareddy joined the YRSCP. The three brothers have a good stronghold in Rapthadu and their exit from the TDP could be a big blow to Paritala Sunitha.

Apart from them, AP Class 4 Employees Central Association former chairman U Kullayappa, former public prosecutor Rajasekhar Yadav also joined the party. YSRCP Rapthadu assembly constituency coordinator Thopudurthi Prakash Reddy and Vennapusa Ravindra Reddy were also present.

Earlier, Vepakunta Rajanna who was a close aide of Paritala Ravi also joined YSRCP in the presence of YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy last month. YS Jagan also hailed Rajanna's entry into the party.

The recent developments in Anantapur have not quite been in favour of Paritala Sunitha. Women have staged protests that the party leadership had done nothing for the women despite being a minister for women welfare.

During a Pasupu Kumkuma program in Rapthadu Anantapur, several DWCRA women were forcibly made to promise to vote for TDP and when they refused to do so they were attacked with stones. A video which clearly showed Women Welfare Minister Paritala Sunita's brother Murali throwing stones at the women and protesters also went viral. In another incident women hurled footwear at her convoy when she arrived for a Pasupu-Kunkuma Programme in Rapthadu. Despite all this, her name figured in the first list of names cleared by TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu as the TDP contestant from Rapthadu assembly constituency.

But her request to nominate her son Paritala Sriram either for an Assembly or Parliament seat in the upcoming elections, is on hold. It is said that Chandrababu is yet to take a decision as he is still weighing his pros cons of choosing between the old war horses and the new aspirants.
