Defected MLA Chand Basha Denied TDP Ticket

Amaravati: The ruling Telugu Desam Party has started assigning tickets for the Assembly and parliamentary elections, as the election notification is likely to be announced anytime soon. Leaders have started their moves for tickets in this backdrop.

Chand Basha, who is the sitting MLA of Kadiri constituency of Anantapur first won on a YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) ticket, and later defected to the ruling TDP. It is learned that TDP supremo Nara Chandrababu Naidu has denied a ticket to him. Meanwhile, Kandikunta Prasad, who lost the seat in the last election is being confirmed as the candidate. Chand Basha was lured into TDP with a ministerial berth but had to settle for a Whip position.

It is reported that Raptadu, Dharmavaram, Penugonda MLA constituency tickets under the Hindupur parliamentary constituency have been reassigned to the sitting MLAs’ Paritala Sunitha, Gonuguntla Suryanarayana, BK Parthasarathi.

On one hand, Palle Raghunatha Reddy has been confirmed as the candidate of Puttaparthi, and on the other, Nimmala Kristappa has been confirmed the ticket of Hindupur MP constituency. But, they can be dropped in the last minute as well.

Other constituencies which have been confirmed in the Anantapur district are Anantapur, Rayadurg, Uravakonda constituency tickets have confirmed to Prabhakar Chowdary, Kaluva Srinivasulu, Payyavula Keshav respectively.

A total of four MP tickets have been confirmed to the candidates namely Srikakulam ticket to sitting MP Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Vizianagaram ticket to Ashok Gajapathi Rao and Chittoor parliamentary constituency to sitting MP Sivaprasad has been confirmed.

Meanwhile, Anakapalli MP constituency ticket has been assigned to former minister Konathala Ramakrishna even before he has joined the party. According to the sources Jupudi Prabhakar Rao’s name is being considered for Tirupati MP ticket.

Gajapathinagaram constituency is in Vizianagaram district. K Appalanaidu is the sitting MLA for the constituency, however, the local TDP cadre took to protest against him in front of Chandrababu’s residence in Undavalli. They complained that he is corrupt and even warned to defeat him in the election if he contests on the party ticket.
