YSRCP Complains To EC On IT Grid Scam

Amaravati: YSRCP has demanded the State Election Commission to take immediate action on the private company IT Grid for securing personal information of the public and the data regarding the voter list.

Party leaders Gopireddy Srinivas Reddy, Kasu Mahesh Reddy and Lavu Krishna Devarayulu lodged a complaint in this regard to the Chief Election Officer Gopala Krishna Dwivedi on Tuesday.

Speaking to the reporters, they demanded answers from the government regarding the personal information of three crore people sent to a private firm from the Seva Mitra app.

They sought clarification on whether the government provided the data or the firm received the information by other means.

YSRCP leader Kasu Mahesh Reddy said that the Election Commission had released a voter list on January 11 following which the data at the Collector office in Gurazala constituency showed registration of 3,600 votes and deletion of 3,479 votes but the data at the State Election Commission showed only 300 votes being deleted. Hence, they have a filed a complaint in this connection.

The YSRCP leaders stated that they shared their doubts over the 3,84,236 applications received from January 11, in regard to the deletion and inclusion of votes in the Guntur district. They urged the Chief Electoral Officer to present the Voter List for examination to all the political parties before the deletion of votes. Party leader Krishna Devarayulu further informed that Gopala Krishna Dwivedi has agreed to their request.
