BCs, Backbone Of Nation: YS Jagan
Eluru: Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly and YSR Congress Party President, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy described communities constituting the backward classes as the backbone of the country. BCs have upheld Indian culture for centuries, the YSRCP chief said. Everything we do from the clothes we wear to the things we use in our daily life, the houses we live in and several other things results from the hard work put in by BCs.
YS Jagan ridiculed Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu's deception of BCs by making hollow promises to them over his term of 5 years in power. The TDP supremo was driven only by a greed for power. The YSRCP chief mounted scathing criticism of Chandrababu Naidu at the BC Garjana organised by the party in Eluru on Sunday for his hypocritical attitude towards BCs.
YS Jagan stated that he wished to see the faces of BCs reflecting happiness. He added that he would always stand by the weaker sections of society comprising BCs, SCs, STs and minorities, among others. YS Jagan announced the name of BC candidate from the YSR Congress party for the only MLC seat to be secured by the party in AP Legislative Council.
The YSRCP chief observed that it is the duty of all of us to think on how we could contribute to improve the lot of BC groups. to this day, large segments of our society remain backward, he pointed out.
YS Jagan criticised Chandrababu Naidu for betraying the 119 promises he made to BC communities in 2014. The AP chief minister has not fulfilled one of the promises he made, the YSRCP president commented. If only 2.40 lakh jobs which were lying vacant had been filled up by the Chandrababu Naidu government, many youth from BCs, SCs, STs and minorities would have been benefited, he said.
Chandrababu Naidu had promised to allocate Rs. 50,000 crores over a period of five years, but ended assigning only Rs. 18,000 crores, YS Jagan remarked. The YSRCP chief added that Chandrababu had let down BCs in every possible way.
