Manikyala Rao Begins Indefinite Strike To Protest Against AP Govt’s Indifference
West Godavari : Former minister and BJP leader representing Tadepalligudem, Pydikondala Manikyala Rao who had earlier resigned from his membership of the assembly against the Chandrababu Naidu government's attitude, launched an indefinite hunger strike from today as a protest against the State government’s alleged neglect of the Tadepalligudem constituency.
In December, he had sounded an ultimatum in a letter to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu stating that if the State government failed to fulfill the 56 promises made to West Godavari district during the 2014 elections he would launch an indefinite hunger strike. He said that though all those issues were brought to the notice of Chandrababu there was no response and even his resignation letter had evoked no response from the government, he said.
