YS Jagan Attack Case: NIA Shifts Accused, Srinivasa Rao To Hyderabad
Visakhaptnam: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) authorities shifted the accused in the murder attempt on Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly and YSR Congress party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Janupalli Srinivasa Rao to Hyderabad on Sunday. Earlier, the NIA officials tried to reconstruct the attack on YS Jagan on October 25, 2018 by visiting the VIP lounge in the Visakhapatnam airport. NIA officials also studied Fusion Foods restaurant in the Visakhapatnam airport owned by TDP leader Harshvardhan Chowdary.They took the accused Srinivasa Rao there to gain an insight into the murder attempt on the YSRCP chief.
The NIA team also examined the area where the knife used in the attack on YS Jagan, was kept. Earlier, the investigating team from the Central agency wanted to interrogate the accused in the presence of his lawyer, Saleem in the CRPF Training Centre at Bakkannapalem (Madhurawada) in Visakhapatnam. However, they were of the opinion that the place was not suited for questioning the accused and decided to shift him to another location. Accordingly, they sought permission and shifted him to Hyderabad to the regional office of the NIA for further questioning.
