Chandrababu Is Driven Only By Self-Interest: YV Subba Reddy

Ongole: Former MP and YSRCP leader YV Subba Reddy slammed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and said he has abandoned the idea of welfare of the state to the wind. He added, Chandrababu is once again trying to lure voters through his actions. YV Subba Reddy said that Chandrababu is driven only by self interest.

Talking to the media on Sunday, the senior YSRCP leader said that Chandrababu had promised water from Velugonda project by this Sankranthi but that never took place. YV Subba Reddy exuded confidence that YSRCP will come to power and Velugonda will be completed in a year. YV Subba Reddy remarked that in 2014 elections, Chandrababu had promised to complete the project and made the people vote for him. However, finally, he has cheated them. I embarked on a Padayatra against the cheating being done by Chandrababu," he reminded the media. People, across the state are facing problems with the shortage of water for drinking, and irrigation. All these will be resolved by the YSRCP, he added.

YSRCP will stand by farmers:

YV Subba Reddy observed that farmers are facing many problems as they are not being provided with even minimum support price, but once YSRCP comes to power, farmers will see better days under Rajanna Rajyam. Today, farmers who cultivate pulses are facing many issues, with the middlemen, and similarly, Subabul and Jamail planters, are also facing many serious issues, he added. Water from Sagar project has been brought to the district but was not in an unregulated manner, he pointed out.

Cooperatives have been nullified by the government

The YSRCP leader added that cooperatives have been neglected in order to develop Heritage. TDP leaders have swindled crores of funds allotted for the development of cooperatives. He commented that the YSRCP is going to expose TDP corruption with respect to the dairy sector as well.

Political stunts for votes

YV Subba Reddy questioned Chandrababu over the incomplete irrigation projects, and asked him on the number of projects which had been been started and completed by CM. He added that Chandrababu is implementing the Rs 2000 pension copying it from YSRCP's Navaratanalu announced by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. This doubling of pension is being done after fours years in power, he pointed out and wondered why it was not done earlier.

Dwelling on the issue of Special Category Status he added that Chandrababu had broken the promise of Special Category Status after people voted for him. "Now is he taking up Dharmaporata deeksha to mislead the people", he asked.

YV Subba Reddy added that MLAs who left the YSRCP will not be allowed to rejoin the party. People have lost confidence in those MLAs, and are also fed up with Congress, BJP and Janasena, he observed. YSRCP is not going to forge an alliance with any party, as confirmed by YS Jagan, he added. People are going to support YSRCP in a big way this time, said YV Subba Reddy.
